The Honourable Delroy Chuck has been serving the people of North East St. Andrew with distinction since first being elected to Parliament in 1997. He has since been re-elected six times, and now in his seventh term to continue his steadfast representation and dedication to public service.

Between 2007 and 2011, Mr. Chuck served as Speaker of the House of Representatives.

He was first appointed Minister of Justice in 2011 and reassigned to the portfolio in February 2016. In September 2025, Prime Minister the Most Honourable Andrew Holness once again reappointed him—this time as Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs—to continue advancing the Government’s mission of building a modern, efficient, and first-class justice system.

Beyond his parliamentary career, Minister Chuck has made significant contributions in academia, media, and civic life. He is a former Mathematics teacher and served for two decades as a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona. He has also been a prolific columnist and commentator on social, political, constitutional, economic, and legal issues.

A proud Kingston College graduate (1962–1969), Mr. Chuck served as Deputy Head Boy and President of the Interact Club, and represented his school in both chess and lawn tennis. He earned a scholarship to the University of the West Indies, where he obtained an Honours degree in Special Mathematics. In 1973, he was awarded the prestigious Jamaica Rhodes Scholarship and pursued Law at St. Catherine’s College, University of Oxford, England.

Minister Chuck is married to Gloria and is the proud father of four daughters, and grandfather to two grandsons and four granddaughters. Outside of public life, he enjoys playing tennis, reading widely, listening to music, and spending time with friends and family.

Schedule a Parliamentary Tour

Experience Jamaica’s Parliament through an engaging and educational visit. Tours are available Monday–Thursday at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and Fridays at 10:00 a.m. Visitors may observe live parliamentary proceedings from the Visitors’ Gallery when sittings are in session, or participate in a guided Chamber tour when no meeting is scheduled.

Tours are free of charge and can accommodate groups of up to 50 persons.
