Visitors may be admitted to the Galleries or to the precincts of the House subject to the following:

  1. No visitor shall be admitted to the House who is not appropriately dressed.
  2. No visitor may bear on his person any firearm while he is within the precincts of the House.
  3. Any Officer or Constable on duty having reasonable cause to suspect any visitor within the precincts of the House of bearing any firearm may search such person.
  4. No visitor shall by any speech or sign, exhibit any approval or disapproval of anything said during any debate in the House or attempt to communicate with any Member by speech, sign or exhibit while the House is sitting.
  5. No visitor may carry any brief case or package within the precincts of the House unless previously authorized by an Officer of the House.
  6. No visitor shall create any act of disorder within the precincts of the House.
  7. Visitors are advised to obtain admission cards at least 24 hours prior to the meeting date.
  8. Visitors are asked to remain SILENT within the precincts of the House at all times including during the suspension of the session of the sitting. 
  9. No photography, videography or sketching of the proceedings is allowed unless so authorized by the Presiding Officer.
  10. There should be NO SMOKING inside the Parliamentary Building.
  11. The use of the following items is NOT permitted within the Gallery or the precincts of the House:
    • Cellular phones
    • Laptop Computers
    • Computer Tablets
    • Any other electronic device 
  12. The following are NOT allowed within the Gallery or the precincts of the House:
    • Food
    • Drink
    • Any item that may be deemed a weapon.
  13. Children under the age of 5 years will not be permitted.
  14. Children must be supervised by an accompanying adult.
  15. The Marshal to the Houses reserves the right to deny anyone admittance where he perceives a potential threat to the safety and security of the Members, staff and other persons and/or possible disruption to the proceedings of the House.

Schedule a Visit / Tour

Schools, youth groups, and community organizations are invited to schedule guided tours designed to inspire civic awareness and active participation.

Schedule a Parliamentary Tour

Experience Jamaica’s Parliament through an engaging and educational visit. Tours are available Monday–Thursday at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., and Fridays at 10:00 a.m. Visitors may observe live parliamentary proceedings from the Visitors’ Gallery when sittings are in session, or participate in a guided Chamber tour when no meeting is scheduled.

Tours are free of charge and can accommodate groups of up to 50 persons.
