The Honourable Tova Hamilton, MP, is the Member of Parliament for Trelawny Northern and currently serves as Minister of State in the Ministry of Tourism. First elected to the House of Representatives in September 2020, she has distinguished herself as a strong advocate for community development, infrastructure improvement, youth empowerment, education, tourism development, and social transformation. Her parliamentary and public service have been guided by a commitment to practical representation, inclusive growth, and ensuring that the people of Trelawny Northern benefit from meaningful national development. Prior to her service in the Lower House, she also served as a Government Senator, contributing to national policy discussions and legislative work.

An Attorney-at-Law by profession, Minister Hamilton has served in several legal and executive capacities, including as Legal Director at the National Solid Waste Management Authority, Deputy Executive Director at the Tourism Product Development Company, and litigator at the Attorney General’s Chambers. As a proud daughter of Trelawny and committed philanthropist, she has, for more than ten (10) years, supported vulnerable residents—particularly children and youth—through educational assistance, sports development, and community outreach. Since becoming Member of Parliament, she has championed initiatives in water access, road rehabilitation, education, sports, electrification, community beautification, and economic empowerment. Her work reflects a deep belief in service, resilience, and the power of local communities to drive Jamaica’s national progress.
